Interior House Painting on the Sunshine Coast - Precision From Start to Finish
Interior painting is more than rolling walls. It's the preparation of surfaces that have collected years of marks, repairs, and imperfections. It's the choice of finish that suits the room and how it's used. It's cutting in clean lines at ceilings and trims and leaving behind a result that looks like it was done by professionals.
JRK Painting is Josh and Amy — a husband-and-wife team with over ten years of experience delivering premium interior painting across the Sunshine Coast. We work on homes where the standard of finish is not negotiable and the outcome of our finishes is unmatched.

What a Quality Interior Paint Job Actually Involves
Most homeowners underestimate how much work goes into interior painting before the colour goes on. Surface condition, preparation quality, and product choice determine the result as much as the application itself.
On a typical Sunshine Coast home we're assessing:
-
The condition of walls and ceilings — cracks, nail holes, texture inconsistencies, water stains, and for potential plaster repairs
-
The condition of trims and doors — dents, paint build-up, excessive brush marks / stipple
-
The existing paint type — whether it's oil or water-based affects primer selection
-
Room function — kitchens and bathrooms need different products to bedrooms and living areas. Anti-mould products make a huge difference in wet-areas..
-
Natural light — how different sheens behave in different lighting conditions. Not all paints are created equal, some perform better than others in critical light areas
This assessment shapes the quote and the approach. Skipping it is how painters end up with a result that doesn't look right and a client who isn't satisfied.

Our Interior Painting Process
1. Pre-Start Walkthrough
Before any work begins we walk the space with you, confirm the scope, agree on the colour scheme, and note any specific concerns or areas of focus. No surprises on the day.
3. Surface Preparation
Walls and ceilings are inspected and repaired — cracks filled, holes patched, imperfections sanded smooth. Trims are sanded back and any paint build-up addressed. This is the step most painters rush. We don't.
5. Paint Application
A minimum of two coats on walls and ceilings. Trims and doors receive the appropriate number of coats for full coverage and a clean finish. We cut in by hand for clean lines at ceilings and cornices. Architraves and doors are finished in our signature spray finish.
2. Furniture & Floor Protection
Furniture is moved to the centre of the room or relocated where needed. Floors are covered with drop sheets, and all surfaces not being painted are masked. We treat your home with care throughout.
4. Dustless Sanding
Where sanding is required we use dustless sanding systems to keep your home clean and liveable during the job. Particularly important on occupied homes — your furniture, floors, and air quality are protected throughout.
6. Final Inspection & Touch-Ups
We inspect every surface before we consider the job done. Touch-ups are completed on site. Furniture is returned to position and the space is left clean.

The Benefits of Professional Interior Painting

A finish that actually looks finished
The difference between a DIY repaint and a professional one shows in the cutting-in at cornices, the evenness of coverage on ceilings, and the sheen consistency across walls. It's not obvious until it's done badly.
Increased property value
Fresh, well-executed interior painting is one of the highest-return pre-sale investments available. It lifts the entire feel of a home and removes objections before buyers voice them.
Minimal disruption
We work around your household. Dustless sanding, careful protection of furniture and floors, and a clean, organised approach from start to finish.
We deliver exterior painting across the Sunshine Coast, including:
